Wednesday

  • Arrival in Calais at 0900 hrs
    - The first world war -
  • 1030hrs: ARRAS : visit of the Wellington Querry
    Underground site filled with memories and emotion sharing the experience of thousands of soldiers who were stationed below ground before the terrible 9th April 1917 offensive.

  • 1430hrs: PERONNE - visit of the Museum of the Great War - http://en.historial.org -
  • 1800/30hrs: Meeting in Reims with host families.

Thursday

  • AM: Guided Tour of the Cathedral and town centre.
    Quizz organized by the local organizer
    Free time for lunch
  • PM: Visit of the Wine Museum : « Le Phare » 
    Overhanging one of the most prestigious slope of the Montagne de Reims, the lighthouse of Verzenayand its Musée de la Vigne invites you to discover the fascinating world of the vineyards of Champagne.
 Thanks to a high-tech audiovisual and scenographic system, discover every essential step to produce the most famous wine in the world!
 Visitors can reach the top of the Lighthouse and enjoy a wonderful view over the vineyards of Champagne up to Reims.

Friday

  • AM: Visit of a Snails Farm in Bouzy, and the Champagne Mercier near EPERNAY. 
    Free time for lunch in Epernay.
  • PM: Visit of the « Living Museum » : village of the 1900s on the Route touristique du Champagne.
    Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the 1900s through the daily life of Champagne people. Visit a fully furnished genuine house and the former village school of Oeuilly. The public distillation workshop is also open to the public.

Saturday

  • Full day excursion to PARIS (07h30/19h00/30)
  • AM: Walk from the Arc de Triomphe, down the Champs Elysées to the place de la Concorde and the Louvres.
    Lunch in the Tuilerie Gardens.
  • PM: To the choice of the GL : Ile de la Cité and Notre Dame (going up to the tower : group of max.18 pax),
    OR the Champs de Mars and the Eiffel Tower (2nd floor), OR the Musée d’Orsay,
    OR Montmartre (Place du Tertre, the Sacré Cœur), OR the « Stade de France ». 
  • Departure from Paris centre

Sunday

  • Full day with host family

Monday

  • AM: Visit of a « biscuits » factory : the most renowed are « pink biscuits of Reims », speciality of the town. (*)
    Visit of the Surrender Musem 
    On Monday, 7 May 1945 at 2.41 am in the War Room of General Eisenhower’s supreme headquarters which occupied part of what was Reims’ technical college, the Allied Forces put an end to the
Second World War in Europe by obtaining the unconditional surrender of the Third Reich’s armed forces. This momentous news was broadcast
simultaneously the following day, 8 May, at 3 pm in the capital cities of the allied nations. The site was subsequently turned into a museum, including
its Salle de la Signature (Signing Room), which has remained intact.
  • PM: Visit of the Automobile Museum
    Nearly 200 cars and motorbikes from 1908 to our time, some having only a few exemplars, and many prestigious marks. Noteworthy collection of enameled registration plates and more than 4,000 model cars and toys. 

Tuesday

  • Full day excursion to SEDAN.
  • 0930hrs: discovery of the « Giant of Sedan » a fortress of 35 000 m² built there soon 6 centuries
    The Castle tells its story through the Historium. True interpretation cente on everyday life and military architecture in the Middle Ages, it is lined with various scenes of daily life recounting the princes, soldiers or household in the Principality. The visitor discovers the site, at his own pace and in its language, through a handset or with a guide (in summer).

  • 1500hrs: Knights Tournament (Summer only)
    Free time for shopping before return trip to Reims.
